Jay Stern has been a director and producer in New York
City since 1995. He has directed and produced over 20 theater productions,
from classical theater to world premieres, and over 30 short films. Stern's
short film work has won awards from the Montreal Film Festival and the
National Educational Media Network. He is also a founding member of Quicksilver
Radio Theater, whose award-winning radio dramas have been syndicated internationally.
Stern is a founder and producer of the Iron Mule Film Festival, and also produces the monthly show Kevin Geeks Out. He is a PhD candidate at the European
Graduate School, where he has studied with Peter Greenaway,
John Waters, Siegfried Zielinski, Claude Lanzmann, Jacques Derrida, Agnes
Varda and Volker Schlöndorff. Stern's first feature film The
Changeling, opened in NYC in May, 2007. Stern is a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab and is in preproduction on his next feature, The Adventures of Paul and Marian.
